The price of housing goes up 4.1 per cent in February, according to Tinsa

The average price of finished housing (new and used) in Spain registered an interannual increase of 4.1 per cent in February, according to the TOC Tinsa IMIE, indicating that this increase is 2.7 percentage points less than the interannual variation registered in January.

Large cities and metropolitan areas staged largely the annual increase in prices in February, with increases of 7.2% and 4%, respectively, while in the rest of the country the appreciation is much more discreet.

Thus, on the Mediterranean coast prices rebounded 2.9%; While Baleares and Canary Islands recorded an increase of 0.3%. The subscript which represents the rest of municipalities shows an increase in the prices of 0.6%.

On the contrary, in monthly variation only the capitals and large cities experienced in February, a slight increase (+ 0.1%) with regard to the January index, while the Mediterranean coast and the island Territories fell by more than 4%.

In terms of the evolution of the prices from the least-marked, in the whole of Spain the revaluation from the lowest moment reached 13.8%. Above the average, the capitals and large cities have appreciated 23% from lows, followed by the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, with 18.4%.

The Mediterranean peninsular coast recorded an increase in accumulated 13.6%, in line with the general index, and the metropolitan areas, 12%. In the rest of the territory increased accumulated since minimum hardly exceeds 5%.

In this way, the general fall in prices from the highs reached before the crisis is 34.7%, with similar figures in major cities and municipalities in the peninsular interior, hovering around 40% in the metropolitan areas and the Mediterranean coast and Standing at 22.4% in the Balearic and Canary Islands.
