The sale of moderates its advance in AugustIt increased 7.4% to add 44.637 operations, thus stringing five months of promotions

The sale of homes increased 7.4% last August in relation to the same month in 2017, to add 44.637 operations, as reported on Thursday the National Institute of statistics (INE).

The annual advance of August, whereby the sale of stringing five consecutive months of increases, is lower than the accomplished in July, when this indicator rose by 16.2%.

Transactions on used homes increased by 6.9% in August in relation to the same month in 2017, to totalize 36.462, while sales of new homes advanced 9.6% annual rate, up to 8.175 transactions.

90.1% of the dwellings-borne sales in the eighth month of the year were 9.9%, protected and free housing. The sale of free increased 6.7% in August at annual rate, to add 40.215 transactions, whereas subsidised operations advanced by 14.1%, with 4.422 transactions.

In monthly terms (August over July), the sale of dwellings fell 2.8 per cent, its largest decline in a month of August from 2015.
